UR32

Milesight UR32

Compact Industrial routers with options for Serial connectivity (RS232/RS485), WiFi, PSE POE Out and even on-board Python applications. The Milesight UR32 Range inlcudes the UR32, UR32S, UR32L and the flagship UR32 Pro.

Milesight IIoT Cellular Edge Connectivity - UR32 Range

When you need an IIoT 4G edge connection to transport data to the cloud or IoT portal, the UR32 delivers a range of interfaces to suit most SCADA, MQTT and older serial and modbus solutions.

Milesight UR32, The 4G Edge Connection for IIoT

When you need to get data from your Industrial IoT application and you need a reliabe and multi-functional 4G cellular edge connectivity device, The UR32 from Milesight is the perfect choice.

Low power consumption

Draws just 6.3 mA at 12 V in standby and 78 mA idle. Wake the router on a schedule, an SMS or a digital input. Power it from 5 to 24 V DC or over USB-C. Low enough for solar and battery-powered sites.

Talks to legacy serial kit

One serial port switches between RS232 and RS485 in software, with a 120 Ω terminator switch built in. Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, Modbus gateway and DLMS client are all on board. Connect meters, PLCs and RTUs with no extra converter.

Reads sensors, drives outputs

One isolated digital input and one digital output handle field signals directly. Trigger the output from the input, an SMS, Modbus or MQTT. Report input state the same way. No separate I/O module needed.

Know where assets are

The UR41 adds multi-constellation GNSS: GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo and QZSS, at 2.5 m open-air accuracy. Forward position over serial, TCP, UDP or MQTT. Fit it to mobile plant and vehicles. The UR41L covers fixed-site telemetry without GPS.

Milesight UR41 and UR41L

The Milesight UR41 and UR41L are mini industrial cellular routers for remote sites where space and power are limited. Both use the same metal enclosure at 70 × 55 × 22 mm, with an isolated digital input and output, a software-switchable RS232/RS485 serial port, and standby draw down to 6.3 mA for solar and battery installs. The UR41 runs 4G LTE Cat 4 with 3G and 2G fallback and adds multi-constellation GNSS. The UR41L runs LTE Cat 1 for low-throughput telemetry. Manage both remotely through the Milesight Development Platform.

Both variants suit smart metering, vending, environmental monitoring and remote equipment control. The serial port and Modbus support connect meters, PLCs and RTUs without an external converter. Where inbound VPN or remote access is needed, a fixed IP SIM is recommended, because standard SIMs sit behind carrier-grade NAT.

Key features

  • Two variants, one platform: the UR41 runs LTE Cat 4 with 3G and 2G fallback, the UR41L runs LTE Cat 1 for telemetry.
  • GNSS positioning (UR41): GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo and QZSS at 2.5 m open-air accuracy.
  • Switchable serial: one port toggles RS232 or RS485 in software, with a built-in 120 Ω terminator for RS485.
  • Isolated digital I/O: one galvanically isolated input and one output, triggerable by DI, SMS, Modbus or MQTT.
  • Industrial protocols: Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, Modbus gateway and DLMS client for meters, PLCs and RTUs.
  • Low power draw: 6.3 mA standby and 78 mA idle at 12 V, with scheduled and event-based wake.
  • Flexible power: 5 to 24 V DC terminal block or 5 V USB-C, with surge and reverse polarity protection.
  • Full VPN suite: OpenVPN, IPsec, WireGuard, ZeroTier, GRE, L2TP, PPTP and DMVPN.
  • Remote management: Milesight Development Platform for setup, mass config and monitoring, plus SNMP and TR069.
  • Rugged compact build: IP30 metal housing, 70 × 55 × 22 mm, -40 to +60 °C, DIN, wall or desk mount.

Cellular Connectivity for Smart Building Energy Monitoring

Why Connect with Millbeck

Millbeck specialises in the cellular hardware and SIMs that sit between an industrial device and the network it depends on. The kind of work where the spec decisions made on day one decide whether the deployment is still online in year five.
